LP Record Shop in Notting Hill, London

Don't we all love stumbling across something unexpected and wildly exciting!

After spending hours browsing through Portobello Market, I came across this wonderful LP record shop. Here are some true gems I found in this store that day: the Velvet Underground and Nico produced by Andy Warhol, The Who's "Sell Out," Nat King Cole's "Story." The shop also had amazing collections of Beatles, Francoise Hardy, Tom Watts, the Kinks and Serge Gainsbourg. Upon request, the manager would play any LP album in the store. I asked him if I could listen to the tracks of Nat King Cole's "Story."

Ahh. What a sincere gesture. His voice coming through an old record player on a rainy day sounded incredibly rich, authentic, and genuine, as if he were trying to tell me some kind of truth. I stayed in the shop watching people as they sprinted down the street until the last note of his track fizzled out into November rain.
